The leaves of the Ficus Elastica Burgandy emerge a rich shade of red, which then harden off to the dark green color. This plant's mature leaves are large and glossy. Ficus Elastica is also referred to as Rubber Trees. Ficus Elastica, including Burgandy, is robust and easy to care for. As a houseplant, it can grow to about 6 feet tall.

How to keep it Leafy:

To encourage your Ficus Elastica to branch into a tree, try techniques called "pinching" and "notching". Pinching is the removal of the leaf buds at the top of the tree, and notching is the creation of a notch in a stem below a bud or node. Both of these techniques redirect the growth hormones in the plant, which encourages the tree to begin to grow branches.

	Water Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out between waterings
	Sunlight Bright indirect. Direct, bright sunlight should be avoided.
	Humidity Prefers higher levels of humidity, around 30-60% humidity.
